I came across a site today that was racking up over 500 simultaneous processes and causing a slow down on other servers connecting to site and affecting 1000's of users.

A quick and easy fix to prevent this problem is to block the site from accessing your site. They may not even be linking to you but just hotlinking an image or running a program through a process o your site. Either way they are costing you resources, money and slowing down your site, here is how to block them by a command line to add to your .htaccess file.
